Sharon Thinkin Out Loud Wednesday, May 21, 2003: Candle-Lite has a new line of candles called "True Indulgence." They smell great and fill your whole home with a wonderful scent. Dan got me one in the Caramel Creme. I've been using it almost every night for over a week and it is still half full (19 oz jar). You can find Candle-Lite candles all over in many retail stores/department stores. Oh, have been wanting to recommend another candle site. This one is www.FlickeringWicks.com. It sells mostly jar candles at good prices, and the great thing is that the price INCLUDES shipping. There is just a $1.99 insurance fee in case there is breakage during shipping - then they send another one to replace it. I received the Chocolate 8 oz jar (lasting forever!, smells yummy) and the Cucumber Ivy which is great for in my kitchen - very fresh and permeates everywhere. Another candle I HAVE to try is Yankee Candles. I guess you can get them in Hallmark Stores, Bed Bath & Beyond, and they also have their own chain. Locally, the nearest one to here is in Concord CA. However, the website has a store and retail locator and they are all over the US. I have heard many kudos about that one. The website is www.YankeeCandle.com, obviously. The scents look awesome. And I hear they are the best when it comes to fragrancing your home and are long lasting. It has also been mentioned that you can't go wrong with the 22 oz. jar as a housewarming gift. Have read many recommendations. Went to my sister's graduation ceremony and it was wonderful to hear her speech (the best one there) and to see my family. Later we went up to the hills for a picnic to celebrate that and Cassie's, Kathy's, Dad's and my birthday. Got some really nice gifts. Had a lot of fun, and even got home in time to see most of the basketball game. Bummer - Kings lost and they're out. We watched "The Ring" on PPV that night. I just don't know if I liked that movie. It was kinda freaky, but it seemed like they just made it up as they went along. Too much symbolism and too far out. It's almost hard to understand. Well I did have about four beers watching it. Maybe I should try to see it again. Yeah, I'll wait till it's on HBO. On Sunday we went to the chocolate festival. It was too crowded, but we had a pleasant time. They had some really good smoothies. And everyone was passing out chocolate kisses, etc. Danny won a hermit crab in a ping pong toss (into jars). We went and picked up hermit crab food and an extra shell at the pet store on the way home. We had the perfect large glass bowl. It is about 12" in diameter and a little over 6" tall with a curved in rim. They are kind of icky but fun to watch. Today is Cassie's birthday. We are going after school to pick out new shoes and then later after Dan gets home we will have ice cream pie (banana split - yum) and she can open the rest of her gifts. I had that same pie for my birthday last week. It is great. It has an oreo crust lined with chocolate fudge. It is layered with banana, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream. It has a whipped cream topping with chocolate shavings on top and a cherry in the center. Yummy. Sharon // 10:16 AM ______________________
